Another analogy, which is actually a bit of a play on words, is Jade Tinted Glasses. This is because being Jaded is when you see everything worse than it is. Then we take that Jade is green (Though white jade really isn't that uncommon...) and we can apply it as a tint too.
So this guy is jades, but there's a swirl of hope in his vision of the future. Also he has a hideous bow-tie. It's a clip-on, which probably hurts.
