Racing Game

Zoom! Zoom!

This is how random mascot racing games look in my mind.

Nerdy

Studied and well educated. At least that's what he tries to show. The glasses and bow tie have you convinced I assume.

I feel like I need to apologize for the webbed feet. It just kinda happened.

Stance

Now, I can't say for sure, but I don't think birds bend like this?Or maybe they do. I think all the joints are more or less in the correct place and direction, aside from the left wing being at about a 180 angle.

Serpentine

This terrifying monster lives on the same level as the cockatrice and the basilisk. That line between the snake and the chicken blurs into so many monsters.

Virtual Pet

I always have a half dozen things in progress. So, I played with a lot of virtual pets as a kid. From your mainstream tomagachi and digimon to the off brand dinosaur thing I picked up at the dollar store. (Actually I feel that way about a lot of old LCD games.) There are almost no Virtual Pet apps. It confuses me, because I feel like the cell phone is a great medium for them. I've played around with lots of development tools so I was thinking about making an android app. I naturally don't have a plan of any sort, but I followed a clicker game tutorial and honestly it's basically the same thing except instead of clicking the old ones had shoddy pedometers. I probably won't actually make that, but you'll see if I do.

Pure Blue

My Blue Periods were fun. Also extremely arbitrary. Just working in only blue for an extended period of time. This isn't one of those, but it's a throw back to it. Click here for more blue stuff.

Wild Wester

Hey everybody! I've been busy with things that don't matter. Can't believe I even missed Thanksgiving.

This is semi-abstract piece. I originally wanted to keep it just the line art, but the vest and wings looked unclear without colors.

It might be time to make some actual schedule. I keep not thinking about it and falling behind. But rather than bothering with that now I'll just make lots today!

Inktober 2017

Last month I participated in something called Inktober. Here's all the pictures, which were originally posted on Twitter. I meant to post them at the beginning of the month, but I lost track of the time. I only found out about it midway through the month, but it was a fun activity.

Running blindly forward, dodging hardship, and aiming for an absolute victory.

Outline

I decided to try something different. No matter what style I work in I generally have very even and consistent outlines, because it comes naturally from the digital medium I use. For this piece I created the outlines after the fact, giving them variable thicknesses and interesting interior angles.

Under the Spotlight

Here we're putting something cute under the spotlight. Just look at it!

I normally pair this sort of bird with rainbows and clouds so I wanted to mix it up for this one and use a nice gray-scale back to make it pop.

Grace

This bird is quick and lithe. The very model of grace. I'm not sure what's with the weird dance though.

Looking Down

The duchess never looked anyone straight in the eye. This may have been because she was a bird but don't let people use those kinds of excuses. The duchess was definitely looking down on us!
