The Butcher's Knife

The bird could only look up uncertainly as the life drained from its body. How had the butcher's knife struck when the chicken was wearing a helmet.

The misunderstanding of armor really went to show how birdbrained the bird could be.

Chalkboard – January 2024 Wallpaper

The off-yellow and white are the only real chalk colors. All the other actual colors felt like cheating to me. Just the dark green, and pale white, coming together to educate you all. Because I assure you this is an educational piece. From Korean to Italian we've written the chicken noise in a variety of ways. (Though it's a bit inconsistent since some are clucking and others are cockadoodledoo)

Thank you, as always, to my Patreon and Ko-Fi supporters. Without your support I'd probably still do this, but not nearly as much.

Tired

Hey everybody! Not to sound too excited but I'm pretty sleepy, much like the humble bird on screen, but unlike this poor fowl I'm going to bed.

December Short Videos

Here are last month's short videos. Because one had me drawing and erasing multiple chickens I don't have them all to post as pictures this time, unfortunately.

Spiraling

Fall into a trance as the spiral spins. You'll never know what lies lied beyond your thoughts as the hypnotist snapped his fingers. All you could do was question your sanity. Why? Why were there three chickens here now?

Color Grading

There has recently been a discussion online about the color degradation of old anime. Highlighted by the green skies of Dragon Ball, and general pinkness of Sailor Moon, neither of which were actually intentional. Both were just results of film degradation, copying and digital encoding.

Preserving things right is important, but this second chicken just lacks the charming character of the slightly green one above him. Like when you learn that roman statues were originally painted garish colors, not just left as striking white marble.

Twins

How have the roosters ended up so different, when they started as just two chicks born from the same egg. Of course they're identical, they're twins, but one ended up a real estate novelist, while the other is still in the navy.

I somewhat doubted this was how birds worked, but apparently you can have fraternal twins in an egg.

Figuring out how to use my new crossposting thing, but this should be going up on Pixiv, Newgrounds, Tumblr, and Patreon

Mild

Late start this month, like most months. I'm not quite ready to go wild this year so we'll start with this mild chicken.
