HD Backgound August 2016: Legacy of the Fallen

This is the wallpaper for August. It is sort of inspired by this picture from an older era of this site. The era of arbitrary challenges. Those were fun, but eventually they piled up and I just had no interest in working on them. Anyways this brave bird is carrying the legacy of his fallen friends and taking up their scarf.

I tried several sorts of shading and patterns but in the end felt that the flat look was nicer for this piece.

You can download this, and many other wallpapers, from this post on my Patreon.

Steadfast concentration. Steadfast concentration and very fast spinning. These were the important core skills he needed.

Sorry, made this one of Sunday, but I guess I hit save instead of Post. My bad. Please enjoy.

Very Much Alive

To those spreading the rumor of my death:
I'm sorry to tell you this, but I'm very much alive.
I'm feeling much better now in fact.
Back from sick leave. :)

Sick and Tired

Everyone, I'm sick and tired. Not of anything. I am just sickly and sleepy. Catch y'all later

I used to draw things like unclear lines when I wasn't putting in any effort but... I guess I've got this down to like muscle memory. It was really hard to not make clean and crisp lines. I had to purposely wobble my hand when I did this. It's hard to do something wrong when you can do it right. That's why highly stylized art simultaneously looks off and really impresses me.

Steel Fowl

Is this metal monstrosity really the best that we have to offer? Is this really the limit of our expertise? The best we can hope is that it quickly ends up in a scrap heap! I want nothing more to do with it!

Shadow Wake

The shadow of a dream remains as man awakes. The nightmare in the shadow stains this world.

Sorry for the break. There will be more than just this tonight.

The Stars of Today

The stars of today are the has-beens of tomorrow and indeed the nobodies of yesterday.
