Blue Nights – August 2025 Wallpaper

Continuing the mood we've been in for the past week or so today's piece is Blue. Aren't most nights basically blue? Or is that just local light pollution? Either way it's a beautiful night. I'll see you all next time.

Take Flight – May 2025 Wallpaper

For this month's wallpaper four silhouettes show a bold action, as the chicken attempts to take flight. A Stand, a Leap, a hesitant Stumble and finally Flight, which chickens quite infamously cannot do very well. That's what following your dreams and taking a leap of faith is all about though. You might stumble, but if you don't jump you'll never take flight.

I'd like to imagine this is a random screenshot from the middle of some spy movie's dramatic and stylized intro.

Left

Left, the direction of turning around in a video game, but you might think "Shouldn't you always charge blindly forward?" Sometimes you need to go back the way you came from though so you can use your new skill and unlock the path you passed by earlier.

That skill, of course, is drawing chickens in MS Paint. You should give it a try some time. 
 

Trees and Fireworks

Here in America the Fourth of July is celebrated with endless fireworks, set off by your neighbors, only slightly out of sight due to their tree line but never out of earshot.

Make sure to give it a good stare so you can see the brown chicken silhouette in the lower right.

Silhouette Kill

Stealth and blood. A single strike to the head with the spur of the chicken's leg and blood sprays.

The moment reaches a climax and we get a stylistic transition to the next scene.

Pink Glow

A shadow surrounded by a glow. The figure within the clear glow still shows black. Once the mundane bird was a simple farm animal, destined for a delicious ending, but it crossed an unknown path and make an unknown deal. Vanished from the fields the bird exists only... in the shadows.

June 2020 Wallpaper – Lies

Lies are a form of not truth, but unlike other sorts of not truth, like nonsense, they're supposed to appear to be the truth. I'm not really any more sure where I'm going with that thought any more than I am what the theme of this month's wallpaper is. I think it is sufficiently aesthetic to ignore that sort of issue though.

Site Remodel Nu 2

Hello, I've decided to do some design stuff on the site and mobile site because I know how to computer and I'm a little bored of this one. Um I didn't actually do anything last time I said this so you may not believe me, but it is the case. I will be keeping the general color scheme in tact, but new things on the banner. Everything on the side bar getting redone or removed. Probably also revisit the various pages and decide if I still even want those. At the very least the top left of the site name up there has been bothering me. I can't believe I didn't notice that swoosh was so shaky until I started doing the wallpapers.

So, this is the teaser/warning. Expect things to randomly come and go from the sidebar in the next week or so as I mess with it until I post another announcement.

Also I like silhouettes. They look like they aren't any work but I think I spend more time on them than I do other things. Since it's like that I don't do them often. I mean they're extra work and look lazy. Clearly a terrible choice.

Days Pass By

As days pass thoughts occur to me like... Don't I run a quasi-popular internet site? I should post on that instead of whatever else I'm doing. I'd like to claim ceaseless toil but I think that would be a blatant lie... Anyways I know it's a bit abstracted but that's a calendar. The red are my posting days. I started off strong and I plan to finish strong but that middle was a bit of a mess. 4 days left in the month so we'll see how posting goes.

City Lights

Light. Shadow. The Cityscape.

In this piece I chose to create a contrast of blacks and grays to emphasize the form of the chicken. I used the dark gray on the bottom to cover for the lack of strong lines in the design. The top of the image is blue. That isn't a sort of gray at all. Also in spite of the title there isn't a single visible light in this picture.
