Arriving

Sometimes you don't even know if things are coming or going, but with a pair of slick goggles everyone will know when you arrive.

Colors

In this piece I continue doing whatever I want.

Except I did make an active choice to not use an assortment of blues. That's one of the comfortable options I fall into since I did it as a joke so early on in this site's existance.

Also I haven't used the name Colors? That seemed unlikely, but apparently true.

Black Bird

Bravely wandering the desert is one of those core experiences that everyone has had. You may need to adjust your perspective a bit if this doesn't sound true. Maybe your desert was just a large parking lot or a lake.

Pink Shadow

A nice knobby silhouette. Smooth is fun, but largely unrealistic. 
 

Can Of Chicken

I've drunk bone broths, and Campbell's has those little "drinkable" chicken noodle soups, but for some reason my can of seems gross to me... Maybe because it's soda can?

Show Off

Show off what makes you you. I mean I won't be. That seems embarrassing, but you should. This little guy is.

Whatever Colors

One of the true wonders of art is that you can just use whatever colors you want. As long as they're a little offputtingly bright people won't even think it's an issue that the beak is cyan.

Round Recovery

I think I'm still a little sick, but I'm back to work so I'm back to you all as well.

Today's chicken is cute.

In A Daze

I've been sick for a week and I'm not really feeling it anymore. 

Intentionally messy linework is annoying to make. Making this with clean curves and shapes seemed wrong though.

Crossed This Road Before

If you keep going where will you end up? You've crossed this road before.

My mind was in a weird country song kinda mood and I accidentally drew something resembling a road line so figured that's where the chicken would be.

Upsidedown

I drew this one upsidedown because this site needed a little more whimsy. Seemed off to present it right side up so I did the playing card style illustration and rotated it around so you can see it both ways.

I'm a bit too competent at this (drawing chickens in MS Paint) so it isn't really distorted much at all?

 

Rainbow Load

This is vaguely digital so it needs to load, but it's not too high tech so we're not doing any blur nonsense. Just green was boring though so I had to reach for the real inspiration, some old 80s rainbow branded tech, like a ZX Spectrum or an Amiga 500. 

Purple > Blue > Cyan > Green > Yellow > Orange > Red

But stopping at Red seemed incomplete, so like a prism the final version is white.

Tough

 

Black and white is tough, as the young people say. Is that what the young people say? It's so hard to keep track. This one is definitely a tough guy though.

Staggered Lines

I like the shape tool and I almost never use it because curves are one of the top things in art, and if I'm not doing curves I'm usually doing strong 90 degree angles. Straight lines just give the whole thing a sort of polygonal look, even though it is obviously a 2D Raster image.

Chorus – May 2026 Wallpaper

For some reason I imagine the sound of this chicken chorus as a barbershop quartet, but that is not the sound that a trio of chickens makes at all. They would just be squawking. In my research, which it may surprise you is a regular part of making this fine artwork, I did see the phrase chorus of gakels, but that's a frustrated hen sound and these punks are clearly having the time of their lives.

Healthy Zoom

Really just can't be bothered to draw the rest of the chicken so let's get this month started with a nice healthy zoom.

That sure is an eye, and maybe an earlobe. Bit of beak. I don't think you should see any comb from this perspective?

This one has angles instead of curves. You may think this would make it more extreme, but it isn't pointy. It's just blocky
