For some reason I imagine the sound of this chicken chorus as a barbershop quartet, but that is not the sound that a trio of chickens makes at all. They would just be squawking. In my research, which it may surprise you is a regular part of making this fine artwork, I did see the phrase chorus of gakels, but that's a frustrated hen sound and these punks are clearly having the time of their lives.

Sometimes I overthink and overdo these wallpapers but this one is nice and straight forward. The most important gimmick is that it tiles seamlessly so it will display nicely on any oddball displays. Together we are just peaking through the floating bubbles to see several angles of this chicken.

Climbing, striving to reach the peak with nothing in sight. Intense focus, relying on whatever tricks and dark deals you were forced to make along the way. A single slip and you'll fall, never able to climb again. This isn't a metaphor for anything. I just like dark mysterious cursed towers. Classic fantasy setting.

For this month's wallpaper four silhouettes show a bold action, as the chicken attempts to take flight. A Stand, a Leap, a hesitant Stumble and finally Flight, which chickens quite infamously cannot do very well. That's what following your dreams and taking a leap of faith is all about though. You might stumble, but if you don't jump you'll never take flight.

This piece is an exercise in the art of intentional imperfections. Because this is all digital it's somewhat trivial to get perfectly straight lines and perfect coverage with perfectly flat colors. Using physical paints you just naturally get a bit of texture or a slight fade from uneven coats, but here that simply isn't the case. When applying the color to the chicken's features I struggled to leave gaps without ugly chunks, because I also very much didn't want things to just be a solid color, but weird blocks not colored in are ugly.
Thank you for joining us for another wallpaper I should have posted two months ago. Might be time for me to enforce a schedule on myself again. Let's call it Mondays and Thursdays. That seems manageable for now and I'm saying it publicly so maybe it will actually happen
This bird suffers from the crushing experience of reality as it encounters the lovecraftian horror of love. (since this should have been for Valentine's Day) As the chicken's whole world falls apart, left cold and alone without a cute hen in sight, sweet whispers come from the void.
Fun action poses are good. Let's give this chicken a sword in its beak and have it cutting some vague baddies in half. Sometimes I lean towards robots, but this is bad samurai movie inspired so they're his fellow fowl instead.

Silhouettes are always hard, because I like how they look but they inherently feel lazy since I'm skipping steps like color and shading and linework. Anyways these are a pair of beautiful birds on a backdrop of warm waves.

I didn't post this back in April, but let's go ahead and fix that before the end of the year. Honestly the muted pastels might actually suit winter better than spring. This is a fairly basic piece with a different palette and a more chunky angular background. The drop shadows give it a 'fake' look, like backdrops on a stage.

Since last month I was dealing with some personal issues this got delayed until so far into December. Still, at least I got it up before Christmas (barely)
Usually with the grayscale I try to sneak in a bit of color, maybe a blue-ish tone or two, but for this we're going with the true monochrome. Enjoy the strong angular trees.

New vertical wallpaper because I'm tired of the one on my phone, and I'm certainly not using someone else's. With crossed wings and golden horns I'd say this is some kind of devil chicken? Using that vague neon effect I'm always fond of, even if it is a bit cheap.
This shining horned devil neon chicken maybe has too much going on, but it's not like it's a cyborg zombie president or something.
