Power Up

More sprite work. This chicken is powering up so he has a glowy blue aura. I decided he may as well also have a gold combed "super saiyan" version since I was doing it anyways.

Form

Someone in a chat was discussing using figure drawing to draw people so I naturally scribbled up this chicken. Um... The black is basically the chicken bone shape form I follow, but the fluffy feathery bits make is mostly irrelevant.

Blind Colors

It's blind because of the black circle eyes reminding me of those blackout glasses. I wanted to use gentle pastel colors instead of my usual bombastic ones.

Jumpsuit

What is this outfit? Is he a race car driver? Maybe a space man? It's hard to say. He's probably just a strange guy.

Evil Wizard Old and New

Just wanted to comment on the changes to my standards. The right represents my early work from 2009. It was actually a fair amount of effort to not overdo the left since I wanted it to be my standard not my high end.

I don't actually know what those words mean. Let me look that up.

Formal mindfulness, or meditation, is the practice of sustaining attention on body, breath or sensations, or whatever arises in each moment. Informal mindfulness is the application of mindful attention in everyday life.

Rider

Staying on the track of sprites this is more actually one. It has a 4 frame walk cycle and a special jump frame. I didn't realize I was working so small until after this was already finished. I animated and zoomed in using Photoshop. I wanted to add some animation to the top of him, but because it's so small I couldn't do any subtle motion in the tail or bob the head without it looking like a major move.

Stand Tall

It's nice to shift back to the relatively limited medium of pixel art. Well, more like spriting really than the broader pixel art. I mean I kind of always do that... Working with a limited color palette and small canvas. It's just a single sprite though, not like a full blown sprite sheet.

This is a truly domineering fowl.

Color Outline

Colored lines in black. I like the general look of it though it kind of makes me feel like it should properly be done as neon. I have no idea how to work in that medium though. I assume I need special tools.

Digitizer

I was playing with a wacom, but I still get thrown off by the using a pen and writing on a different thing. Well, I usually use a mouse though. Appreciate the artistic merit that is undoubtedly found in these scribbles. Maybe I would get more out of it if I weren't still using MS Paint.
