Take Flight – May 2025 Wallpaper

For this month's wallpaper four silhouettes show a bold action, as the chicken attempts to take flight. A Stand, a Leap, a hesitant Stumble and finally Flight, which chickens quite infamously cannot do very well. That's what following your dreams and taking a leap of faith is all about though. You might stumble, but if you don't jump you'll never take flight.

Character

A new and exciting character being added to the roster.  Really stands out from the rest of the site with the firm confidence to just be "Bird"

Not even firmly identifying itself as a Chicken, much less something respectable like a Knight or a Horse.

Face Focus

Maybe I don't know what Monday is...

Anyways for today's chicken I have decided to firmly focus on the face. Do birds have faces? It feels a bit off, but I think it's find. That beak/eye area is the focus of today's chicken maker experience. Not outline the body lets it shine through more.

Robe of Stars

The mysterious wizard was cloaked in a Robe of Stars. It was so distinctive one could almost, but not quite, forget that they were also a giant talking bird.

Mirrored Shapes

Perhaps this is a bit too wide, but with a striking form you can look at and nod knowingly.

I know I just said I was going to follow a schedule, and then immediately failed, but let's just ignore that. This Tuesday post is basically a Monday post.

Negative Spray – March 2025 Wallpaper

This piece is an exercise in the art of intentional imperfections. Because this is all digital it's somewhat trivial to get perfectly straight lines and perfect coverage with perfectly flat colors. Using physical paints you just naturally get a bit of texture or a slight fade from uneven coats, but here that simply isn't the case. When applying the color to the chicken's features I struggled to leave gaps without ugly chunks, because I also very much didn't want things to just be a solid color, but weird blocks not colored in are ugly.

Thank you for joining us for another wallpaper I should have posted two months ago. Might be time for me to enforce a schedule on myself again. Let's call it Mondays and Thursdays. That seems manageable for now and I'm saying it publicly so maybe it will actually happen

Long Legs

Stand tall, look firm and show off those nice long juicy drumsticks. The striking appearance is just oh so tasty.
 

Red Cultist

The red cultist's eye shine with an eerie light. 

Gotta focus on the core fundamentals, chickens in silly hats. Of course that isn't literal. It doesn't need to have a hat, any cheap Halloween costume is fine.
