HERO: BATTLE FINAL
By

And now, finally, after all the time it took. HERO is complete, never to return. I think I had some good ideas, but the execution wasn't that great. And I forgot whatever plot I had planned for things more than once. If you've been watching sorry for the wait, and if you haven't you should take a look at the rest of the series.

I'm sorry. This issue took nearly nine months to come out. The next, and final, issue will be posted in a more timely manner. Enjoy the battle between the Rookie and the King.

Okay. Here is the next part of Hero. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't really focus on our ball-like protagonist though. It instead serves to give us some insight on some of the other characters. And by insight I mean I wanted to draw the fight between the Wizard and The Cowboy. I also included another one of those profile type pages.
Next part will be out when it is. Ain't getting cocky this time.

Here we have 3 Extra Pages for Hero. I promised something by the end of the month (aka 45 minutes from now) and the next issue ain't ready yet so you get some profiles. I considered doing a silly short but I'll save that for later.
Also this reveals The Rookie's ability to FIREBALL! which will be seen next time.
To Self: Size 20 Pristina, so I know if/when I decide to make more of these.

Sorry this third part took so long. I had to relearn how to draw the characters. For previous issues see the Project Page.
Will the Rookie and Hero manage to defeat the Witch and her Winged Eye, Wai? Will the Fool survive? What does the Cowboy look like? What's Hero's cool finishing move? Find out all these and more in this issue of HERO!
And, while I feel a bit cocky... Expect the next issue before the end of the month! After all. We're reaching the good part!

Here's the prequel issue of Hero, as promised. For links to other issues see the project page on the sidebar. I'll resume the story with Issue 02 soon, promise. Now for the story. How did The Rookie and Hero end up in the deadly Grand Tournament?

Well, I first posted up a design for this project at the end of May. And now, as we approach the middle of August I release the first issue. Since you guys didn't give me any feedback when I told you I had no idea how I'd be posting this up for you to view I had to think on my own and well, I'd hate to look lazy so I decided to put some actual effort into it.
Unfortunately I haven't quite figured out how that'll be working yet so here's all the pages linked in a nice list, because they're too wide to post in a row. I suggest opening them all in background tabs(that's clicking with the mousewheel) then just going through the tabs one by one. It's really not a terrible way to post it I suppose.
In this project I ended up using both MSPaint and Photoshop. The Photoshop was mostly just for the text, cause that stroke effect makes it look so much nicer on a non-solid background. I also saved it with that in the end and apparently it doesn't like MSPaint's 4 default grays since it turned them into two interlaced piles of near identical grays. That's all in good fun though.
Now you'd think that since this is Battle 01 then obviously the next issue is Battle 02 and normally I'd agree with you but instead I decided that starting it from here would leave anyone who actually read it confused so I'll be doing Battle 00 next which will be what led up to the events of the comic. It will probably only be a few pages but that's cause it'd get boring if I drug it out.
So, please tell me what you think!

Hero Black/White
By

Well, I've refined the character design for my comic character. A bit simplified. Yeah, I know I gave him some funny looking feet, but they're easy to do consistently. Also, the comic'll be in black and white(and grays). It looks nice and it's easier to make nice looking Black and White than to make nice looking color. You have to do a lot of shading work to improve the style of color. Color covers though. And my plan is to release this in chapters instead of pages like most web comics do. So, I need an opinion. Should I do all of the thumbnails going down the page or should I do a list of links or should I do something fancier? I'm not sure how that last one works but you know.
Also I killed the link within somehow, but whatever that thing was kinda stupid anyways.

Hero LVL 1

This is something from my latest vague idea. This chicken is a magical summon called forth by an inept mage. The two of them are quickly dragged into a tournament between powerful summoners who call forth gods and demons. He would just surrender in the first round and run away but the winner devours the loser and Hero the Chicken isn't chicken and also doesn't want to get eaten.
I haven't figured out what it's going to be yet. I mean maybe like a comic? Or I could try my hand at animation again? Maybe do it up like Dual Chicken, a picture show and a paragraph? I'm kinda leaning toward doing a comic, at least that was what I initially thought of to go with the concept. If I got some opinions that would be nice. Maybe I'll throw out this idea all together and go with something else.
